The American Express® Platinum Card is probably the best known American Express card worldwide, with the possible exception of the legendary Centurion® Card. This elite charge card has similar platinum benefits to those you get with The American Express® Platinum Credit Card, but adds some solid money-saving lifestyle and travel perks.
In Singapore, (unlike the US) this card is granted on an invitation-only basis, though you can express interest if you think this is the card for you. If you have a high income and are interested in taking advantage of this exclusive card, read this Amex Platinum Charge Card review to find out how The American Express® Platinum Card can help you to get the best perks for your lifestyle.

Our Least Favourite Things About The American Express® Platinum Card
High minimum annual income requirement. To apply for this card, you need to make at least $175,000 per year. That may not be as high as the income requirements of some other invitation-only cards, but this certainly is an exclusive card that's out of reach for most people. Application is by invitation only, so even you make that much, you need to register your interest. The decision to invite you to be a card member will be up to American Express.
High annual fee. You will have to cough up a pretty penny to enjoy the benefits and prestige of this exclusive card. If you prefer a more affordable option, you could consider The American Express® Platinum Credit Card, which has many of the same perks (although that card lacks top benefits like unlimited complimentary lounge access).
The American Express® Platinum Card is card that gives you a range of benefits that covers travel, dining, lifestyle, golf and other areas. It also lets you start off earning 20X points per $1.60 in purchases at selected partner merchants. That is the highest rate I've seen on an Amex card, although it does go down to 10 points per dollar after you reach the spending cap. The invitation-only events, savings on chartered yacht services, Tower Club membership, and Platinum golf automatically put you into exclusive circles.
But unlike The American Express® Platinum Reserve Credit Card, which gives you very few extra benefits compared to the affordable The American Express® Platinum Credit Card, you really do get top benefits with The American Express® Platinum Card, and not just added prestige.
If you don't care about status symbols and don't spend enough on airport lounges, golf and other memberships to justify the high annual fees, consider The American Express® Platinum Credit Card which gives you many of the same platinum privileges (including Platinum Dining, Platinum Wellness, and Platinum Entertainment).
The annual income requirement for that is $50,000, much lower than the $175,000 required to get . It also lets you earn 10 points for every $1.60 you spend at Platinum EXTRA Partners, and 2 points for every $1.60 you spend elsewhere. In my opinion, The American Express® Platinum Credit Card strikes a good balance between exclusive privileges and affordability.
